Leif Bahl Looking For Job Opportunities

The science store where Leif Bahl (my husband) works may be closing this year so he's now starting to consider a different career. He is currently an telescope sales rep. He's has an Extra license for ham radio. Really interested in emergency and safety services. Adores astronomy and physics (currently going for his degree in astrophysics). He has a degree in psychology (might be helpful with emergency services as people are traumatized by major events). And a degree in English. He's been a college professor (teaching experience). He does a lot of public outreach for astronomy (so used to working with the public and putting presentations together). He's worked for both a newspaper (writing columns) and had a radio show. But even more so loves electronics, ham radio, science, and meteorology. Please let me know if you hear of ANY job openings in the Kansas City area, even if they pay as low as 30k. Trying to help him to start putting feelers out. Thank you!

Weird and Fascinating Night

Weird, weird, weird. World is incredibly small. It's was just so unreal, the couple we met last night. One works in the financial world, his company is one of our clients and he knows my company and people who worked there. This is where is gets wild. The other was born & raised where my family is from (Shreveport LA). He loves astronomy (they both do and now want to join our astronomy club). He was in the military and was stationed at Homestead AFB while I was stationed there. (We were both Air Force). And he knew my ex boyfriend. Like he knew his name, described him to a 'T' and knew exactly what his job was as he had the same job (wish I could tell you why that was mind blowing). Plus even weirder are coincidences that are just too wild to go into. At one point the bartender just stopped to listen in, gave me a free drink to keep us talking. Another customer  chimed in, stating we were having the most fascinating and interesting conversation. Ended up leaving about an hour after they closed with bartender telling us 'no rush'. It was just cool and weird, the things we shared. Thanks you, Randy and Louise, for making an awesome night even more amazing. And thank you Scott for the fab and free drink.

Leif and Life

Excellent day yesterday. Life has significantly improved over the past year. But yesterday just rocked. And a solid weekend to follow. Farmer's market this morning, foam roller workshop this afternoon, Buddhist meditation late afternoon, then Leif is taking me out to dinner (but the place is a surprise). Tomorrow he works so I'll be walking the dog and hanging out at the coffeehouse, studying. Maybe throw in some knitting (start a new project). But Monday we're both off again! No plans yet but just spending the day together is a treat. Love that man dearly. Best friend. Makes me laugh, makes me think, a total teddy bear, and an awesome husband.

Ethnic Festival

Attended the Ethic Festival with Leif this afternoon. Rice tofu roll from Japan, Turkish Coffee and baklava from Turkey, and coffee from Haiti. Also bought a beautiful silk purse from Pakistan. Love checking out the shows, and the food and goods from all the different counties. Now onto yoga class then later walking Lilly at English Landing. Very full and fun weekend. Life is good.

Just finished a walk by the river with Lilly. She loves this place. But you can tell by the photo that I've tuckered her out a bit. :)

Yoga Headstand

Yoga class rocked this morning at Om Prana Yoga! Fellow yogi's really make all the difference, the energy of the class was so supportive. And I did another headstand! Yes, assisted getting up and up against a wall. But really, isn't that still pretty awesome? I'm going to work on my arms at home for the next few weeks (and in class as well) and will try a new way of doing the headstand in September. Very proud of myself. 

Yoga, Coffee, JavaScript, and Toastmasters

Just finished a great yoga session at Om Prana Yoga Studio this morning. Now sipping on a yummy iced mocha while studying my JavaScript book. Half way through the last chapter! Almost done! Finish that then onto working on my second Toastmasters speech. Still need to deliver the first one but want to stay ahead.

Tonight? Powell Observatory. I'll be volunteering, public outreach, showing the wonders of the night sky to families.

Mary!!!

Mary!!! She's taken the "Comfy Throne" (aka the huge recliner). She goes back to Arizona on Thursday. :(   I think Leif is already missing his girl.

Farmers Market in July

Leif and I are enjoying the farmers market on the mild Saturday. Listening to the street performers, stocking up on veggies and fruit, and sipping yummy coffee. I love Leif so much. Not only is he the love of my life but also my best friend.
