I just made a contact from the WW1USA station at the National World War I Museum! Very cool stuff. First two photos are of my contact. The last is when Mary hopped on afterwards to make her contact (Leif is helping her). 

Harry Potter and Alex

Alex and I back in 2007 at a Harry Potter party at Borders bookstore (which is why she has the cape on :)  She was a mere 14 years old. Now? College, apartment, living half a country away...guess they gotta grow up sometime. #ThrowbackThursday #TBT

Stress and Life for Alex

Alex is so tired. Only 20 minutes left with my girl before she checks into her gate. She's had a stressful day. Her car broke down in FL so she's having to take a shuttle home, not getting home until 1am. She's getting up at 7am to get her car fixed as she has work tomorrow evening. Her bag was over limit (though we fixed that). Just a lot of things going on, other stuff as well. But she's a tough and smart cookie. But still... It's been an eventful 2 weeks and a bit stressful today. Good thing she's a resourceful and bright woman. Very proud of her and how she handles life.

Daughter's Departure

Alex has finished packing and we're relaxing and chatting until her flight. Lunch at a local place then off to the airport. My heart already misses her. December can't come soon enough.

Last Day With Both Girls

Getting some sun with my girls at the park. Gonna miss Alex when she leaves for Florida tomorrow.

Lilly and her duck

Lilly snuggling her baby duck. She's such a sweet dog, she's all love. Took her to the new dog park and, for the most part, she stayed right beside me. She was happier when we finally took her for a walk by the river. Silly dog.

Family Day at the Arboretum and Loose Park

Family day yesterday at the Overland Park Arboretum and Loose Park. Love spending time with my husband, step-daughter, and daughter. Daughter, Alex, leaves in two days, going back to Florida for college. How did the two weeks go by so fast?

Alex

Alex giving me the stink eye for taking photos of her. Jk, she was a good sport about it. :) Just finished 1.5 hours of yoga and 0.5 hours of swimming laps (plus playing in the water for another half hour). Taking a quick coffee break before she and Mary head off to the Pride Festival.

Powell Observatory

Powell Observatory last night, June 7 2014 Saturday. It was mostly cloudy but we could see three planets, the Moon, and a globular cluster. Awesome public night crowd. Many of them stayed for a long time, very curious and excited by what they could see. Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn all looked great and didn't disappoint. I never get tired of looking at the rings of Saturn or the cloud bands of Jupiter. Nor any of their moons. All photos were taken by myself with an iPhone 5s.
