Monday Smile

Finally smile, a 'real' smile, after a bad day. Despite it being a deep and heavy conversation with my daughter this evening, talking to her still cheered me up. Guess I miss being a momma.

Awesome Weekend

Lilly and I are indulging in this rare warm spring day with a walk at English Landing Park. Exhausted from the weekend but happy. But still very exhausted. Solid weekend where great memories were made.

Messier Marathon - Success!

Observed past sunrise, ending at 7:19am. Venus and Mars both looked great even in daylight! I kept observing until I could no longer see Mars in my 10 inch Dob. Fantastic, splendid night of observing of over 60 objects. My favorite was the Whirlpool Galaxy. I could see the two galaxies and their interaction (colliding into each other). Packing up, heading home (2 hour drive), then some sleep. Then...working on my Java project due at midnight tonight. No rest for the wicked. Photos are of Mars and Venus from this morning, taken with my iPhone, looking through my telescope.

Messier Marathon - Part 1 - Prep

Love Parkville Coffee & their yummy drinks. Guy in red is currently making my venti sugar free mocha with an extra shot. Need the caffeine as Leif and I will be doing some astronomy observing from sunset tonight to sunrise tomorrow. Messier Marathon!

My night with Al Pacino

Leif and I attended a charity event tonight for the Boys & Girls Club. Rolling Stone movie critic Peter Travers interviewed the Oscar winner Al Pacino. We were front row! It was an awesome event where they raised over a million dollars. The auctioneers were so cool, like something right out of a movie. We even did some bidding ourselves on an item and won! Had a blast. Great night overall.

Kansas City Zoo

Zoo! Penguins! Polar bears! Sea lions! We had a blast yesterday. :-) Chilly but bright Sunday. Got in tons of winter sunshine! It was fun being a little kid again.

Nice Saturday

Took Lilly for a long walk in the beautiful sunshine at the park this morning. It was heavenly. Now at the coffeehouse knitting Alex another dishcloth for her apartment. Later will stop by the knitting store (Florilegium) and also check out the new art gallery in Parkville, Buffalo River Gallery (no idea how they came up with that name). Then a very much needed mani/pedi at Foxy Nails. Ending with an evening with Leif (he works Saturday's). Perfect Saturday overall.

Downtown Kansas City Library this morning. Hard to tell it's March, looks more like October. Been a bit chilly this winter. Love the outside look of this library.
